I’m Nuno Lopes, a destination wedding photographer based in Portugal, working internationally with couples who value emotion, elegance and authenticity.

My photography is rooted in a documentary approach, focused on real moments, refined aesthetics and timeless storytelling. I observe quietly, anticipate intuitively and photograph with intention — allowing each wedding to unfold naturally while crafting a coherent and emotional visual narrative.

Over the years, my work has been recognised internationally, not only for its aesthetic consistency, but for its emotional depth and human perspective. I believe that great wedding photography goes beyond images — it becomes memory, presence and legacy.

I work with couples who seek a discreet yet confident presence, who appreciate simplicity, and who understand that true luxury lies in meaning, not excess.

My journey

My journey as a destination wedding photographer began with a clear turning point: I left a long corporate career to dedicate myself fully to photography and to the stories I truly believe deserve to be preserved.

Today, I am a destination wedding photographer based in Portugal, photographing celebrations across Lisbon, the Algarve, the Douro Valley, Madeira and the Azores. I work with couples who choose Portugal for its beauty and atmosphere, and with couples who want their wedding documented anywhere in the world with the same level of intention and care.

My journey has also led me to photograph weddings and events abroad, including destinations such as Dubai, Mexico, Italy (including Tuscany), the United Kingdom and Spain. Different cultures, places and people have shaped my vision and reinforced my belief that meaningful photography is built on presence, empathy and intention.

Along the way, I have documented intimate elopements, large-scale celebrations and multi-day weddings where family and tradition are at the heart of everything. My work is rooted in documentary storytelling, blending candid emotion with a refined editorial, magazine-inspired touch.
